Merry Christmas Eve!
Although yesterday’s posting was satirical there was some truth to it. Every since I married my wonderful bride, Christmas has become more and more special. For many years before meeting her it just didn’t have the same magic and consummate joy for me that it does her. Now eleven years later I think I can say that I’m finally coming close to how she feels about Christmas and I...

Putting the X back in Christmas
Ever since I can remember it seems I’ve heard people bemoaning the fact that Christmas is getting more commercialized every year. Tomorrow it’s supposed to snow—a...

Christmas limerick
I woke up from falling asleep on the couch and realized I already missed one night so here’s Tuesday night’s Christmas installment. Please forgive me for writing a limerick that is neither about someone nor tongue-in-cheek as they usually are!
In December it’s time to come in from the cold.
It’s a month that’s designed for the young and the old.
It’s a month...

Christmas at last
The two-week run of The Nutcracker is over and now I can relax a little and enjoy Christmas. What a better way to start than eating a delicious St. Lucia cookie, Tonya’s deeply rich and thick hot chocolate, reading from Tomie dePaola’s Christmas Remembered and enjoying Christmas music in our living room now bedecked with beautiful decorations?
One of my favorite things to do when I...
